GEORGE TOWN: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi arrived here to officiate the Umno Bayan Baru division delegates meeting.
He was greeted on arrival by musicians beating the kompangs.
He was also accompanied by a group holding bunga manggar.
This is Zahid's first visit to Penang after becoming the deputy prime minister.
Also present was Umno Balik Pulau division chief Datuk Seri Dr Hilmi Yahaya, representing the state Umno liaison committee.
