GEORGE TOWN: A 19-months-old baby boy drowned in a pail of water during a bath at their home in Jelutong today, after his mother left the bathroom to grab a towel.
In the morning incident, the mother had told her elder daughter to keep an eye on the baby while she stepped out from the bathroom.
Pathologists at the Penang Hospital who conducted the post-mortem told NST that while the mother had stepped out to grab a towel, her elder daughter had screamed "Mak...adik pengsan!" (Mum, little brother had fainted).
The boy was then rushed to the Penang Hospital but was declared dead upon arrival.
Post-mortem revealed that the boy had died due to drowning.
