LLM Port Dickson Final Day: Hazwan Makes It Three

PRECISE tactical decisions paid off for Hazwan Hazim Dermawan of hazOne Racing Team who won the fourth leg of the Liga Layar Malaysia (LLM) in Port Dickson today.

The win was Hazwan's third this season following his success at the earlier legs in Pulau Indah and Lumut.

At the previous leg in Langkawi, Hazwan came in second.

Hazwan, won all six races in Port Dickson to end the regatta with a total of 16 points, while team UWA, captained by Will Boulden came in second after winning three races to score 13 points.

"It was a tough competition but my team performed well and our tactical decisions paid off," said Hazwan.

Boulden, who hails from Perth, Australia suffered some brain fades on the final day, but that has only motivated him to race more in the LLM.

"It has been a great regatta and more sailors from overseas should take part. I think I will be coming for the next one," said Boulden.

Teams from the Royal Malaysian Navy took the next three spots. Harisfabillah Muhammat of Navy Only One came in third, followed by Ishak Jab (RMN Match Racing Team) and Mohd Masyuri Rahmat (RMN Match Racing Team 1) who finished fourth and fifth respectively.

Hazwan and his team took home RM6,000 for their winning feat, while the second and third place team won RM 4,000 and RM3,000 respectively. Fourth and fifth placed teams settled for RM1,000.
