Mourinho denies being ruthless after spat with medical staff

LONDON: Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho says he is “far from being ruthless,” despite dropping two members of his medical staff from match-day duties for treating an injured player during a game.

Club doctor Eva Carneiro and head physiotherapist Jon Fearn were publicly rebuked by Mourinho for entering the field to treat Eden Hazard late in Chelsea’s match against Swansea in the Premier League on Saturday. It left Chelsea temporarily down to nine players because goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois had been sent off.

Mourinho confirmed Friday that Carneiro and Fearn won’t be involved in Sunday’s match at Manchester City but says “it doesn’t mean that they cannot be in the future.”

Mourinho says “I am far from being ruthless. Far. Far. I have a fantastic relation with almost everyone who works with me.” -AP
