SERIAN: An elderly man who went looking for durian goes missing.
The 67-year-old man went to his farm located inside a forest in Serangkom, which is about 1-hour long journey on foot from his house near here and never returns.
Acting on a missing person report lodged by the man’s relatives, a search team comprising of five rescuers from the Serian Fire and Rescue station together with four policemen were deployed to the scene.
Also in tow looking for Janom was seven villagers from the village.
“The man went missing since 12noon on Wednesday. The search team are still scouring areas near the man’s farm but we only found some of his farming equipment,” said a Serian Fire and Rescue Department spokesman today.
