KUALA LUMPUR: The workers of Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) will not be affected after the water restructuring exercise.
The water concessionaire chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Ruslan Hassan said the current staff would not be affected, or lose their jobs.
In fact, he said, the terms of agreement stipulated in their employment would also remain while the water restructuring plan was seen as a positive sign for the company.
Ruslan said he was optimistic and it would help to improve the company financially as this will help the concessionaire provide better water services for the people.
It was previously reported that Sept 13 was the deadline for both federal and Selangor governments to solve the problems related to the handover of the water industry following the signing of the Supplementary Agreement to the Water Industry Restructuring Master Agreement on July 10.
