Man tries to share wife's hacked up remains with neighbours after murdering her

JAKARTA: A man in Indonesia had allegedly attempted to distribute his wife's hacked up remains to neighbours after brutally killing her.

The suspect known as Tarsum, 41, murdered his wife, Yanti, 40, yesterday (May 3) at their home in Dusun Sindangjaya, Kabupaten Ciamis in West Java, an agency reported.

The village chief, Yoyo Tarya, said that he was also offered her 'meat' placed in a sack by the suspect.

"At first, I didn't know there had been a murder. Shortly after that, I heard Tarsum's cries mentioning his wife's remains as if he was not in his right mind," he further said.

Yoyo then promptly reported the incident to the authorities, who then arrested the suspect.

Meanwhile, a witness reported that the victim was beaten with a stick before being brutally killed and her body hacked up in the middle of the road.

About three days before the tragic incident, Tarsum, who is a goat seller in the village, was said to be under stress believed to be due to financial constraints, and had been visited by debt collectors.
