Wei Feng to meet South Korean Lee Hyun Il at Vietnam Open GP

CHONG Wei Feng's fairy tale run at the Vietnam Open GP continued following his victory in the quarter-finals today.

Wei Feng, seeded 10th defeated Japan's Kenta Nishimoto 22-20, 21-15, and will be up against second seed Lee Hyun Il of South Korea next.

"It's tiring but I'm glad to have reached this far," said Wei Feng, when contacted in Ho Chi Minh.

"My next match against Hyun Il is going to be tough. He is a seasoned shuttler and I lost to him quite easily in our last meeting (Autralia Open in May). I really want to win this time though."

Mixed doubles Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying, are also through to the semi-finals. The Malaysians upset sixth seeds Adrei Adistia-Vita Marissa of Indonesia 21-19, 21-19.

"We have been playing really well here. We are close to reaching the final, but we are not there yet. We must keep our focus," said Liu Ying.

Peng Soon-Liu Ying, face China's Huang Kaixiang-Huang Dongping tomorrow.
