Bersih 4: More than 3,000 attended Sabah chapter rally

KOTA KINABALU: Taman Teluk Likas II is crowded with Bersih supporters who have marched from five different locations, near here.

Among the participants are politicians lawyers, non-governmental organisations, and villagers from far flung districts such as Kota Marudu, Tambunan, Keningau, and Penampang.

Politicians who are present include Sabah opposition leader Datuk Lajim Ukin, Kota Kinabalu MP and Sabah DAP chief Jimmy Wong, Sabah PKR vice chief and Api-Api assemblyman Christina Liew, and Likas assemblyman Junz Wong.

A police officer on duty said no untoward incidents have occurred, adding police are on standby to respond to any situation.

"At the moment, they are free to carry out their activities and we heard some of them are staying overnight by the beach.

"They have not caused any disturbance except for traffic congestion because many road users stopped or slowed down to take pictures."

Earlier, the Bersih 4.0 rally caught the attention of road users along the Tanjung Lipat road.

Drivers and motorcyclists slowed down to take pictures of the participants who had marched towards Taman Teluk Likas II.

The march began at about 2pm.

Some participants were also seen holding placards while showing them to road users.

The card read "Sorry for the inconvenience. We are trying to change the world".
