LENGGONG: Umno leaders should help clarify on current issues rather than making statements that could further confuse the matter said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
He said confusion raised by those within the party would also cause disunity and affect its ability to face external challenges.
The Umno vice-president said the party would become a stronger party if its leaders could stop creating doubts on certain issues, that would only benefit the Opposition.
He also advised Umno members to always support their leaders as long as they did not deviate from the true teachings of Islam.
"We must continue to soldier on and face both internal and external challenges.
"Leaders will come and go but the party must continue with its struggles," he said in his speech at the opening of the Lenggong Umno division delegates' meeting here today.
Present were Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir and Lenggong Umno division chief Datuk Shaarani Mohamad.
