Bersih 4: Protesters begin to disperse

KUALA LUMPUR: Protesters at the Bersih 4.0 rally outside Dataran Merdeka have begun to disperse as the day draws to a close.

As of 6.55pm, the crowd at Jalan Raja Laut has cleared, with the roads from there leading to Jalan Kuching and Jalan Parlimen reopened to traffic.

Around 5,000 protesters, however, are still in the area, staging a sit-in at the entrance to Dataran Merdeka where they had originally planned to camp overnight.

Opposition leaders who earlier gave speeches to the public, including PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Ismail and vice-president Rafizi Ramli, are expected to return after Maghrib prayers.
