KUALA LUMPUR: Water supply at certain areas in Kuala Lumpur, Gombak, Petaling, Hulu Selangor and Klang/Shah Alam would likely be disrupted from 10 pm tonight due to low pressure.
Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) Corporate Communication and Public Affairs general manager Priscilla Alfred said the low pressure was a result of an operation shutdown at the Sungai Selangor Phase 1 water treatment plant for 10 hours until 8 am tomorrow.
The temporary shutdown is to allow Syarikat Pengeluar Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Splash) to carry out emergency repair works on a switch gear transformer that had broken down.
Syabas could not estimate the duration of the disruption and low pressure as it depended on certain factors.
“SYABAS expects the supply to be restored in stages,” said Priscilla in a statement here today.
Meanwhile, the statement did not provide a full list of the affected housing areas.
However, Syabas has prepared tanker lorries to cater to emergency cases. – BERNAMA
