Police to record statement from duo over Bersih4 rally

IPOH: Police have summoned state DAP chairman Nga Kor Ming and Aulong assemblyman Leow Thye Yik to give statement on their involvement in Bersih 4 rally last weekend.

The duo are expected to have their statements recorded at the Taiping police headquarters at 11am on Thursday.

It is learnt that police need their statements to help facilitate investigations into the illegal rally in Kuala Lumpur.

“Yes, we were summoned by police. Thanks,” Nga wrote in his reply to a short messaging system query from the New Straits Times here today.

Meanwhile, Taiping district police chief Assistant Commissioner Harrith Kam Abdullah when contacted had also confirmed it.

“No charge or arrest. It is just to record their statements,” said Harrith who declined to elaborate.
