KUALA LUMPUR: Several areas in Sarawak recorded an unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) reading as at 11am today.
A check on the Department of Environment (DOE) website showed the districts with highest readings is Kuching (118), Samarahan (127), Sarikei (103) and Sri Aman (128).
Meanwhile a moderate API reading is recorded in 32 areas while another 13 areas recorded good API with 3 areas without any readings.
An API reading of between 0 to 50 is categorised as good; 51 to 100 (moderate), 101 to 200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (extremely unhealthy) and over 301 (hazardous).
The public can refer to the portal http://apims.doe.gov.my to obtain the latest API reading.
