Throwback Thursday: Happy Coffee Day!

Today (October 1, 2015) is the first official International Coffee Day!

It is not known when the exact origin of the International Coffee Day is or when it was first celebrated but the first event was promoted in 1983 by the All Japan Coffee Association.

Coffee beans were believed to be discovered in Ethiopia and the coffee day marks the long history of the drink.

Coffee beans are actually pits of coffee berries and were made popular in the Arabs in the fifteenth century before spreading its aroma across Asia and making its way to Italy, Europe and the Americas.
