DENGKIL: One of the blocks at SK Dengkil in Taman Putra, here, was destroyed in fire at about 4.30pm, today.
No deaths or injuries were reported.
Senior Fire Superintendent II and Selangor South Zone Fire Department Chief Azmi Sadon said the incident involved four rooms which were cooperatives room, living skills room, pre-school room and a sports storeroom.
“The one-level block was 90 per cent destroyed. The fire also broke out at a textbook room but the firemen managed to put out the blaze before it spread.” he said.
He said 14 firemen were dispatched to the scene after the team received an emergency call.
The firemen took about half an hour to control the fire and the flames were completely doused at 5.06pm.
The total loss and cause of fire were still being investigated.
