Lorry men caught in police chase for heroin and stimulant possession

KEMAMAN: Two men, aged 32 and 44, were arrested for possessing 1.5 grammes of heroin and 10 stimulant pills after their lorry was being chased for avoiding the Pahang police's roadblock near Jabur in Kuantan on Sunday.

District police chief Mohd Said Ibrahim said the police team had to chase them until the Pahang-Kemaman's border before Kemaman police was alerted.

A team of policemen from Kemaman police station were rushed to give their assistance in searching the lorry and then spotted the vehicle was heading towards Felda Cherul.

"The team was had to fire a shot aiming at the lorry's tyre forcing the vehicle to stop near Felda Cherul to Bukit Sagu," he said.

"Two men, the 32-year-old driver from Felda Cherul and his 44-year-old assistant from Mengabang Telipot, Kuala Terengganu failed to escape the police team who connered the vehicle yesterday at 2.30am," he said when contacted yesterday.

Mohd Said said both who tested positive methamphetamines were taken for further investigation at the Kemaman police station and investigated under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952 .

They were being remanded for four days at the station.
