KEMAMAN: A 26-year-old woman was detained after she knocked down her 35-year-old husband near Pantai Teluk Mak Nik on August 16.
District police chief Superintendent Mohd Said Ibrahim said the incident happened after the couple had a verbal altercation while they were in the suspect's car near the beach.
The victim then left the suspect's Perodua Myvi at about 11 pm.
Not satisfied with her husband, the suspect rammed into him with the car twice. The impact caused injuries on his shoulder , thigh and finger.
Mohd Said said the victim, who is from Kampung Paya Berenjut, Chukai received treatment at the Kemaman Hospital before being transferred to the Kuantan Medical Centre Hospital, Kuantan before being discharged in early September.
He then received follow up treatment at the same hospital.
"The victim lodged a report against the wife at the Chukai police station on Oct 10, at 2.47 pm ," he said adding that the woman was picked up at her workplace the following day at a Bank in Paka, Dungun, around 3pm.
"We released her on the police bail after her statement was recorded," he said, adding that the case was being investigated under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder.
