Haze: 7 areas record unhealthy API

KUALA LUMPUR: Seven areas nationwide recorded unhealthy Air Pollutant Index readings as of 8am today.

According to the Department of Environment (DOE) portal, Samarahan and Bandaraya Melaka recorded highest readings of 111 and 109 respectively.

This was followed by Port Klang (107), Banting, Tawau (both 106) and Kuching, Bukit Rambai (both 102)

The latest readings also showed a total of 33 areas recorded moderate air quality while 13 areas with good air quality.

An API of between 0 to 50 is considered good, 51 to 100 (moderate), 101 to 200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (very unhealthy), 301 and above (hazardous). The public can refer to the apims.doe.gov.my portal to get the latest API readings. -- Bernama
