Police to record Xavier Justo's statement in Bangkok: IGP

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have acquired permission from Royal Thai Police to record statement from former PetroSaudi executive Xavier Andre Justo.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said arrangements for the interview, which will be done in Bangkok, are being made between officers from the federal police headquarters and their counterparts in Thai.

He said a team will be sent to Bangkok after the arrangements are finalised, and they expect that the date and time for the interview would be decided by the end of this week.

Justo, who is being jailed in Thailand for blackmailing his former employer, was sought after by the Malaysian police to facilitate investigations into issues surrounding 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB).
