KUALA LUMPUR: Starting July 1 next year, the national minimum wage will be increased to RM1,000 monthly for Peninsular Malaysia and RM920 monthly for Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan.
Tabling the 2016 Budget, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said the minimum wage increase involves all sectors except the domestic services sector.
Minimum wage was previously set at RM900 and RM800 for Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia, respectively.
