Two charged in Subang viral road rage incident

PETALING JAYA: Two motorists were charged with criminal mischief for their role in a road rage incident in Subang Jaya which went viral on social media.

Contractor Cheah Jenq Yeh, 30, and businesswoman Sasha Farina Mohd Shapie pleaded not guilty at the Magistrate's Court here today to committing the offences under Section 427 of the Penal Code.

They were alleged to have committed the offence on Oct 28 at Jalan SS15/5A in Subang Jaya.

Both offences were committed at 10.37am.

If found guilty, both could face a minimum jail time of between one and five years.

In a 17-second video clip captured by Cheah which went viral on social media, Shasha Farina was seen allegedly hitting Cheah's Toyota Camry with a steering lock.

This allegedly occurred after Cheah had parked in the spot reserved for Shasha Farina.

Cheah allegedly rammed his car into her vehicle, a Volvo S60, which then led to the altercation.

The cases will come for mention on Dec 2.

Cheah and Shasha Farina were both granted bail at RM3,000 and RM3,500, respectively, with one surety each.
