6,000 centenarian voters registered for GE13

KUALA LUMPUR: About 6,000 voters above the age of 100 were registered for the 13th General Election.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said said there were 5,877 people above the age of 100 registered with the Election Commission for the 2013 polls.

"The EC however doesn't have the statistics for the number of voters above 100 who actually cast their vote during the polls as well as a breakdown of their races," said Azalina in a written reply in parliament.

Azalina was responding to Tanjung Karang Member of Parliement Datuk Seri Noh Omar's question on Wednesday.

On Wednesday Noh Omar asked Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak how many voters above the age of 100 were registered with the commission as well as the racial breakdown of the demographic.
