Malaysian envoys present credentials to Putin and Zuma

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysian Ambassador to Russia, Datuk Hayati Ismail today presented her credentials to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

In a statement here today, the foreign ministry said Hayati, who previously served as Malaysian high commissioner to Canada, took over from her predecessor, Datuk Zainol Abidin Omar.

She has been a career diplomat for the past 31 years and her foreign service assignments include Namibia, New Zealand and Germany.

She had also worked as deputy director-general of the Asean Malaysia National Secretariat and Senior Under-Secretary for Asia, Oceania and North Africa Directorate at foreign ministry in Malaysia.

Meanwhile, Malaysian High Commissioner to South Africa, Datuk Badruddin Ab Rahman also presented his credentials to South African President Jacob Gedleyihlekisa Zuma on Thursday.
