PR1MA confident to meet 500,000 PR1MA houses by 2018 target

KUALA LUMPUR: The 1Malaysia People’s Housing Programme (PR1MA) is confident of achieving the target of providing 500,000 PR1MA houses by the year 2018.

Its chairman, Tan Sri Ali Hamsa said so far 227,776 units of houses under PR1MA had been approved throughout the country comprising 90 projects.

“More PR1MA projects will be announced and so far we have not heard of any complaint from buyers on loan approvals from the banks offering loans,” he said.

Ali, who is also the chief secretary to the government, said this to reporters after the ballotting for the PR1MA Alam Damai project, in Cheras at the 2015 PR1MA Housing Expo at the Putra World Trade Centre, here today.

PR1MA offers housing units costing from RM100,000 up to RM400,000 for Malaysians aged 21 and above with a monthly household income of between RM2,500 and RM10,000.

Ali said PR1MA had so far received 1.17 million applications from throughout the country.

“PR1MA is confident that it can offer more houses with the cooperation of more than 80 housing developers who are prepared to offer houses for the project,” he said.

The PR1MA housing community offers housing schemes equipped with facilities for recreation parks, kindergartens, community centres, 1Malaysia shops and security control. --Bernama
