Umno members urged to remain committed to party's struggles: Ku Nan

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno needs members who are committed to the party's struggles as they will help to push the party forward and to remain relevant in the country.

Its secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said Umno requires its members to be disciplined because without this the party can be destroyed.

Speaking to reporters after launching the National Convention on Urban Social Welfare Initiatives, Tengku Adnan said members who have breached party rules would be brought to the disciplinary committee.

He added: "Reports against them will be made, because right now, we need to focus on the party and discipline is very important."

It was also reported that nine Teluk Kemang Umno branch leaders had called for Umno President Datuk Seri Najib Razak's resignation, ‎and they would be facing a disciplinary tribunal.

Tengku Adnan also said members should focus on building the party so they it can move forward with its plans that would ensure the wellbeing of the community.
