Two killed, another two injured in Cheras-Kajang Espressway crash

KUALA LUMPUR: Two people were killed while another two injured when the car they were travelling in crashed into a tree at Km17 Cheras-Kajang Espressway last night.

The deceased who worked at a refrigerator manufacturer company died on the spot in the 11.45pm incident.

Their bodies were sent to Serdang Hospital for post-mortem.

Kajang police chief Assistant Commissioner Willey Richard said the victims were travelling in their employer’s car from Kajang to Kuala Lumpur before they were involved in the fatal crash.

"It was raining at the time," he said adding the road was wet and visibility was poor due to poor lighting.

"They were suspected not to be intoxicated during the crash," said Willey.

Willey said the case was investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

It is believed the injured victims were sent to the Serdang Hospital for treatment.
