BESUT: A 15-year-old who was arrested with his father and brother for drug trafficking, here, on Saturday, has been released on police bail.
Besut Deputy police chief Deputy Superintendent Kamsani Hasan said investigations revealed the boy was not involved in the drug offence, but was present at the house during the raid by police.
However, the boy’s statement has been recorded to assist investigations following the arrest of his father and elder brother who were found with several packets of methamphetamine and cannabis in their possession.
He said the 45-year-old father, and his 22-year-old son were being remanded at the Besut police station until Dec 4, under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 which carries the mandatory death penalty upon conviction.
Kamsiani said both were tested positive for Amphetamines after a urine test.
On Saturday, the police team raided the suspect's house in Kampung Darau at 4.30pm and seized RM10,100 in cash, believed to be proceeds from the sale of drugs, along with a motorcycle and a Proton Wira Aeroback.
