KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today arrived to open the "Multaqa Serantau" event organised by the Al-Azhar Alumni here.
He was seated next to Pas president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, who is expected to deliver a keynote address.
The event has been touted as a platform to promote unity among Malay Muslims in the country, which of late is said to have been eroded by politicking.
During the Umno general assembly, Najib had extended an olive branch to Pas in an effort to foster better unity among the Malays.
Pas also reiterated that such a cooperation should be apolitical, despite opposing claims by DAP.
