KOTA KINABALU: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim received warm welcome from the public at the Sabah International Convention Centre here today.
About 20,000 people thronged the venue for the national-level Madani Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.
People took the opportunity to shake hands and take selfies with Anwar.
He spent 30 minutes for the meet-and-greet session.
Present were Deputy Prime Ministers Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, Tuan Yang diPertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin and Toh Puan Norlidah R.M Jasni, Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, as well as state and federal ministers.
The entourage arrived at the venue after a meeting at Menara Kinabalu.
Hajiji said Sabah has been celebrating all major celebrations to forge unity.
"We are in Sabah, unity, peacefulness and respecting each other are very crucial."
