The Prince Of Romance, prolific French pianist Richard Clayderman will be performing in Kuala Lumpur on March 31 and April 1 at Istana Budaya.

The Richard Clayderman Featuring National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) String Ensemble concert is part of the pianist’s Asian leg of his world tour.

“It’s not easy to bring an international artiste, especially one with his stature, over to Malaysia for a performance,” said Istana Budaya director-general Datuk Juhari Shaarani at a Press conference yesterday at Istana Budaya.

“Luckily, he is currently on his world tour, and we managed to get him to perform here.”

He added that Clayderman had requested to be accompanied by only a string ensemble.

The pianist previously has performed in Malaysia, namely in Genting Highlands in 2007 and Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu in 2013.

“Richard knew that many of his Malaysian fans would want to see him perform, so he opted for a two-day concert this time around,” Juhari added.

Tickets to Clayderman’s concert at Istana Budaya are priced RM70, RM100, RM300, RM400, RM500, RM800, RM1000 and RM2500, available now via www.airasiaredtix.com.

“Fans who bought the tickets worth RM2500 each will be eligible for a meet-and-greet session after the concert with Richard,” Juhari said.

A part of the proceeds will be used by the Johannian Leadership Fund to form a wind orchestra for St. John’s Institution, Kuala Lumpur.
