Month-long stakeout leads to arrest of Padang Jambu drug trafficker

KUALA TERENGGANU: A month-long observation by the Dungun police’s narcotics team led to the arrest of a 23-year-old trafficker in Padang Jambu yesterday.

The suspect, who had in his possession 400 stimulant pills, was taken to the Dungun police station at 1.30pm.

It was learnt the suspect was waiting for customers at the location during the raid.

District police chief Superintendent Ahmad Zailani Yaacub said the suspect is being investigated under Section 39A(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

"The suspect tested positive for methamphetamine but does not possess any previous criminal record," he said.

Ahmad Zailani said that the pills, weighing 41.15grammes, had a street value of RM6,400.
