JOHOR BARU: The Johor Baru Magistrate's Court here today sentenced a 68-year old man to pay a fine of RM3,000 or in default 12 months jail for impersonating a doctor.
Jogindhar Sigh Prakash pleaded guilty to committing the offence by introducing himself as Doctor Ashok at the Theesan Clinic in Taman Universiti between 2014 until January this year.
Jogindhar in his plea for leniency appealed to magistrate Mohd Azlan Shah Mohd Alias to consider his deteriorating health due to his heart condition.
He also said that he has to take care of his two children and a wife who is not working.
Deputy public prosecutor Siti Asmah Zainal Ariffin prosecuted while the accused was unrepresented.
