KUALA LUMPUR: Persatuan Karyawan Malaysia (Karyawan) paid a visit to veteran singer Datuk M Daud Kilau, who is being treated for a urinary ailment at Selayang Hospital here recently.
Karyawan president Datuk Freddie Fernandez and committee members Deen Maiden and Rozita Rohaizad spent an hour with the flamboyant singer, who was in high spirits despite his illness.
The 77-year-old artiste from Bagan Datoh, Perak, was first hospitalised for his ailment at Teluk Intan Hospital earlier last month, and later transferred to the Selayang Hospital.
During the visit, Karyawan also contributed a small sum collected from its members to help with medical costs.
“Daud Kilau is scheduled for prostate surgery on Feb 29. We hope that he will have a speedy recovery,” said Fernandez.
“A supportive member of the association over the years, he is an exemplary entertainer who not only entertains fans but also does his bit for the less fortunate through his concerts,” he said.
