Putrajaya cycling event recognised as country's biggest

PUTRAJAYA: The 1Federal Territories Cycling Convoy pedalled its way into history when the Malaysia Book Of Records (MBOR) as the Biggest Cycling Event in the country.

Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, who is also Putrajaya member of parliament, received the certificate of recognition presented by MBOR chief executive officer Datuk Michael Teo earlier today.

The programme saw 16,647 participants, and was organised the ministry and the Federal Territory Sports Council in collaboration with Putrajaya Corporation (PPj) and Putrajaya Cycling Association.

The free and open programme featured two categories — 10km and 40km — that started and finished at Dataran Putrajaya in Precinct 3.

In his speech, Tengku Adnan said the programme helped shape a more active and vibrant community that was physically and mentally healthy, while promoting respect among people of different communities.
