Guan Eng begins three-day trip to China

GEORGE TOWN: Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng began an official three-day trip to China today.

Lim, who is leading a delegation of six from Penang, will first visit Guangdong province governor Zhu Xiaodan today.

In a statement by the Chief Minister’s office today, Lim will then attend the Boao Forum for Asia in Hainan from tomorrow until March 25.

Lim is expected to participate in the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road: Islands Economic Cooperation Forum and the Asean-China Governors/Mayors’ Dialogue.

The statement said the forum would bring together Asean governors and ministers from island countries along the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road.

Accompanying Lim on the trip are his political secretary, Wong Hon Wai; state Youth and Sports Committee chairman Chong Eng; Tourism Development Committee chairman Law Heng Kiang; Tanjong member of parliament Ng Wei Aik; Paya Terubong assemblyman Yeoh Soon Hin; and Lim's special officer, Wong Kim Fei.
