Malaysian actor Tony Eusoff charged with drug possession in Singapore

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian actor Tony Eusoff was dragged to a court in Singapore for drug possession, Singapore's Berita Harian reported today.

According to the charge sheet obtained by the daily, Tony, 38, whose real name is Anthony Joseph Anak Hermas Rajiman, was charged with possession of a Class A controlled drug under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

The charge sheet stated he had a package containing not less than 4.56 gram of vegetable pieces which when analysed, was found to contain a mixture of marijuana.

He was charged with possessing the drug while at the bus arrival hall of the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) at the Tuas Checkpoint on March 12.

It was learned that the Sarawak-born actor was in Singapore for the filming of "The Hush" drama, produced by Weiyu Films, scheduled to be screened next month.

Berita Harian (Singapore) had contacted Weiyu Films managing director Lee Thean-Jeen. However, he declined to comment.

Attempts to get comments from Mediacorp were also unsuccessful as the e-mail sent to the company was not answered until press time.

Class A drugs are classified as the most dangerous and addictive, and if convicted, Tony can be jailed up to 10 years, fined up to S$20,000 or both.

His case will be heard again in court on April 12.
