Those spreading rumours in Umno should be held responsible: Johor Umno leader

JOHOR BARU: Those who are spreading baseless allegations within Umno should be held responsible for their act as this could taint the good name of the party, said Kempas assemblymen Datuk Tengku Putra Haron Aminurrashid Jumat today.

In a statement, Tengku Putra called for swift action by the party's Supreme Councils to carry out an internal investigation on the allegations that Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin will be relieved of his post and replaced by a deputy minister who is from Johor.

"The allegation is unethical and only a tall tale. It has stirred anxiety among party members and there is a guessing game as to who this mysterious deputy minister is," said Tengku Putra.

He added Umno should call up the person who made such allegations and demand for the truth on the issue and if it was found to be untrue, action must be taken against the culprit for committing slander.
