Miscommunication led to loss of Bukit Kota by Opposition

KUCHING: Miscommunication among opposition allies led to Bukit Kota being won by Barisan Nasional uncontested.

PKR Vice President Dr. Xavier Jayakumar claimed that the seat was allocated to DAP according to an agreement on seat allocations.

"It was actually their (DAP) seat and we didn't know they were not sending anyone to contest there.

They didn't inform us, otherwise, we would have fielded someone there," he told the reporters at a press conference here.

Yesterday, BN secured two seats uncontested in Bukit Sari and Bukit Kota.

PKR had announced its candidate Jamal Brahim to contest Bukit Sari. However, he failed to turn up at the nomination centre.
