Body of Sabah policeman arrives in Kota Kinabalu for burial

KOTA KINABALU: The remains of Corporal Roydin Jamaludin, the policeman found dead in a ditch in Muar yesterday, has arrived here and will be buried at his hometown in Kudat this evening.

The body arrived at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) at 11.40am and was brought to Kampung Telaga Pitas, Kudat at 12.20pm.

Muar police chief Assistant Commissioner Azman Ayob accompanied the body along with the family of the victim; his wife Viani Lukin and two sons aged five and eight.

State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) chief Datuk Salehhudin Abd Rahman said the police took care of the process, from flying the remains home up until bringing the body to the cemetery.

Roydin, 32, who served with the police since 2003, died from head injuries.

Eight individuals have been detained by Muar police to assist with investigations.
