MCA deputy president to undergo spinal surgery this week

KUALA LUMPUR: Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong will undergo spinal surgery abroad this week.

In a statement from his office, Wee, who is also MCA deputy president, would be going for a brief period of rest and recovery after the surgery.

During this period, his official duties will be assumed by Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, who is also MCA president.

According to the statement, Wee has also pledged to resume his duties and continue to serve the rakyat and nation as soon as possible.
