KUCHING: The country's second Mara Junior Science College (MRSM), which is opened for children of police personnel, will be built in Perak.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said an announcement about the project's details will be made soon.
"Land has been earmarked for the project and a tender for it will be issued in June. This is among the efforts we have made for police officers and personnel to look into the welfare and education needs of their families.
"The new MRSM will be sited on a 50 acre plot of land in Perak. Details of it will be announced at a later date. This is the second MRSM that is open to children of police personnel after the one built in Kulim (Kedah) in the 1990s," said Zahid after meeting with 800 officers and personnel from the Sarawak Brigade General Operations Force here today.
