PM announces allocations to repair longhouses, improve schools in Sri Aman

SRI AMAN: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak announced allocations worth millions of ringgit to repair longhouses and improve schools while on the campaign trail here today.

In Simanggang, Najib announced an allocation of RM400,000 to repair two longhouses, and more than a million to build two new school buildings.

The first longhouse in Kampung Purai Undop, named after its chief Jegai Jawa, received RM200,000 for structural repairs.

Najib had visited the longhouse earlier in the morning to lend his support as Barisan Nasional chairman to BN candidate for Simanggang, Datuk Francis Harden Hollis.

There, he also announced another allocation of RM1 million to rebuild SK St Lawrence which is currently in a dilapidated state.

At the second event in Kampung Engkramut, Najib approved RM200,000 to rebuild the walls of Faizal Radin Longhouse which was affected by land erosion.

He also gave an allocation to rebuild SK Bakong which is also in dire structural condition.

Najib also urged voters to support the BN candidate for Bukit Begunan, Datuk Mong Dagang.

"We do care about the people here. We want to make sure that Sarawak is included in the mainstream agenda for national development," said Najib to loud cheers from longhouse folks.
