(Football) Kelantan could be docked point for not settling salaries

KUALA LUMPUR: Kelantan are at risk of being docked points this season if they fail to settle the wages of five former players on May 11.

The Kelantan FA (Kafa) were given three months to settle owed wages from 2015 totalling RM477,000.

In a statement today, Professional Footballers' Association of Malaysia (PFAM) chief executive officer Izham Ismail said the players did not receive their second scheduled payment on April 15 as agreed upon on March 6.

"We have filed a complaint to the FA of Malaysia for further action. I hope FAM and Football Malaysia Limited Liability Partnership (FMLPP) will take action," said Izham.

FMLLP chief executive officer Kevin Ramalingam said: "We can only recommend stern punishment to FAM as the national body handles disciplinary issues in the M-League.

"FMLLP do not want to have another discussion with Kafa. If Kafa do not settle by May 11, they must be punished accordingly.

"I hope FAM will handle this by the book and take appropriate action " said Kevin after the FA Cup final organising committee meeting at Wisma FAM today.

Meanwhile, ticket prices for the FA Cup final at Shah Alam Stadium on May 14 have been increased by RM10 to RM50, and allocation for children have been abolished.

PKNS are only taking up 10,000 tickets, handing another 20,000 allocation to Darul Ta'zim.

With that, Darul Ta'zim, the home team, will have 50,000 tickets.

Another 10,000 will be sold online at www.tickethotline.com.my. All tickets will be available for purchase on May 9.

Stadium gates will open at 4pm and more than 1,500 enforcement officers will be stationed at the venue.
