ARAU: The remains of Tengku Putri Utama Perlis Datuk Seri Sharifah Salwa Syed Putra Jamalullail were laid to rest at the Perlis Royal Mausoleum at 6pm today.
Her younger brother, Raja of Perlis Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Putra Jamalullail and his consort Raja Perempuan of Perlis Tuanku Tengku Fauziah Abdul Rashid were among the dignitaries who paid their last respects to Sharifah Salwa.
They were joined by Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail and Raja Puan Muda of Perlis Tuanku Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil.
Also present respects were Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah, Perlis Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azlan Man and state executive councillors.
It was learnt that Sharifah Salwa, who was the eldest of 10 siblings, passed away at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital at 11.15am today due to dengue fever.
She was 74.
She leaves behind four children.
