Only BN can preserve Sarawak's unique harmony - Najib

BAU: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today said that only the Barisan Nasional can preserve Sarawak’s unique harmony.

“We have succeeded in assuring moderate and progressive polices. That is BN,” he said at a “Leader with the People” gathering at Redeems Centre, Singai, located about 30km from Kuching.

Najib said moving forward, the people of Sarawak must maintain this harmony.

“In Sarawak, it is although there are no “walls” separating race, religion and culture. This did not happen by accident but is due to the policies on unity espoused by BN since the very beginning. We believe in unity in diversity... we are one family.

“We built this. We do not just talk. We walk the talk. We help all ethnic and sub-ethnic groups in Sarawak,” he said.

Najib said: "We care for Sarawak. We care for the people of Sarawak. That is why we must see elections as a chance to continue what we have inherited, that is harmony among the people that is very unique.

He said that they should also realise that only BN can bring development and progress in the "Land of the Hornbills".

"In elections, we decide on what we really want, what are our priorities and who represent our priorities? Ask yourselves," she said.

Najib said he saw that development was still needed by the people of Sarawak.

"The question is who can deliver the development and change Sarawak? Who can bring development and change?", asked Najib who received a resounding "BN" from the crowd.

Najib also reminded Sarawakians to reject the opposition because they would not be able to deliver.

At the event, Najib approved a RM5 million allocation to upgrade Jalan Sibuluh-Serikin. Thereafter, Najib performed the Friday prayers and also special prayers at the Nurul Ashiqin Mosque, located in Kampung Lidah Tanah, Batu Kitang about 40 km Kuching. -- BERNAMA
