All Komuter services to end in Rawang today following Batang Kali accident

KUALA LUMPUR: All Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) Komuter train service operations will end at the Rawang station today until further notice.

This is due to an accident involving two trains which took place in Batang Kali this afternoon.

“All train operations will stop at the Rawang station. We will also release a press statement on the matter,” said KTMB corporate communications manager Siti Badariah Wan Hanafi when contacted today.

KTMB on its Twitter account also announced that the train service from Tanjung Malim will end at the Rawang station. There will also be no train service between Rawang and Tanjung Malim and vice versa.

Those who will be taking the Electric Train Service (ETS) this evening and at night have been advised to contact the ETS centre at 03-2267 1200 for further information.

Earlier today, three people were injured when a KTMB Komuter train collided with ETS train near the Batang Kali Komuter station in Selangor.

There were a total of 510 passengers on both trains when the incident occurred around 1pm.

The 13-coach Komuter train, from Butterworth, was heading to Kuala Lumpur while the ETS train with six coaches was en route from Kuala Lumpur to Ipoh.
