Firemen and public help transfer obese man from home to ambulance

KUALA LUMPUR: Firemen today helped transfer an ailing obese man from his bed on the second floor of a terrace house into an ambulance so he could be brought to hospital.

Kajang Fire and Rescue chief Faizad Amirul Abdul Razak eight firemen were sent to the house at Taman Sri Cheras upon receiving a distress call from the Kajang Hospital at noon today.

Carrying a weight more than 100kg, the 31-year old married man was said to have been suffering breathing difficulties and unstable blood pressure.

"The team, with the help of five members of the public, took 15 minutes to transfer him from the bed to the portable stretcher, before carrying him to the ambulance," said Faizad.
