Spanish couple and two others who went missing in Sabah waters found safe

KUALA LUMPUR: Four people, including two Spanish nationals who went missing in Sabah waters on May 2, were found alive by Vietnamese fishermen today.

Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency director-general Datuk Ahmad Puzi Kahar confirmed this when contacted today.

"MMEA is currently dealing with the Vietnamese fishermen and authorities to bring back all of them ," he said.

It was reported that David Hernandez Gasulla and Martha Miguel from Spain, as well as China citizen Lam Wai Yin who was piloting the boat, had left Pulau Balambangan, Banggi with a Malaysian woman, but failed to reach their destination at Simpang Mengayau here.

The group left the island at 5.30pm and was supposed to reach there at 8pm.

A report was lodged by the boat owner after they failed to reach their destination.
