Dashboard cameras vital

BASIC dashboard cameras are cheap. They record many hours of driving footage via a loop system where the old footage is recorded over after the memory is full.

Some time back, I installed a dashboard camera in the event that I would be involved in an accident, like what happened to me years ago when a lorry slammed into several stationary vehicles, including my car.

My version of events differed from that of the other parties.

Had I installed a dashboard camera then, all disputes would have been put to rest and the policeman would have known who was at fault and the case would have been closed sooner.

Dashboard cameras are not standard accessories but more can be done to promote their use.

The police and Road Transport Department should promote their use since accidents happen often.

After all, the job of policemen to determine what caused accidents will be easier if there are video recordings of incidents.

Accidents increase during festive seasons. Wouldn’t it be good if accidents can be resolved expediently with the use of dashboard cameras?

Sometimes, accidents are one person’s word against the other.

If the aggrieved party has the footage of the other party’s wrongdoings, then there is no escape.

Once dashboard cameras become a norm, there will be a subconscious effect on reckless drivers to behave.
